missing keys
and a trip to Apple
I spent 2 hours going from mac repair shop to mac repair shop in the 11th arrondissement. Two of the keys on my MacBook had fallen off two days prior, making any word with the letter N and U impossible. Once I decided I couldn’t take it anymore, I set about to fix it, prepared for whatever the cost may be.
Store after store I was told what I already knew—that it would be better to go directly to the Apple Store.
You see, there were no appointments at Apple Store for the rest of the week when I looked online, and it would take 30 minutes via train to get there, so I looked for every ‘Apple certified’ store I could find, and even those who weren’t but claimed to be.
I grew weary with every ‘go to the Apple store’ that was communicated through Google Translate. How hard is it to put back two missing keys?? You fix iPhones for goodness sake!! Determined to avoid the commute and the long wait time I imagined it would be, I persevered. Online, I saw there was one more Apple certified store I hadn’t come across, and I was able to make an appointment online directly via the website. Excited to finally have a solution that doesn’t require going to the store, I made an appointment bright and early.
It should be no surprise that they also told me the same thing. Luckily, the Apple store was only 350 meters away - yes I traveled all the way to this store but wasn’t willing travel to the real Apple store. They had an appointment! To my surprise, the wait time without an appointment was only 15 minutes, which ended up being 10. The Apple staffer took one look at my laptop, went to the backroom, and was out shortly after with a fresh set of keys. Free of charge! How seamless that was was mind-boggling to me: the very thing I had gone through so much trouble for, was fixed when I went straight to the source.
It makes sense that Apple, the one who created the MacBook in the first place, would be the place to know exactly how to fix it. They didn’t even need the N and U that I was lugging around in my pocket, it’s like they have an abundance of letters in the back for this very reason.
This reminded me of how often the solutions to our problems are right in front of us. For me, the answer is almost always prayer. But I will dance around the problem till thy kingdom come, until someone finally asks; did you pray about it?
When I go straight to God, I either find a solution that did not occur to me before, that the problem was much less significant than I conjured it up to be, or peace of mind. Often all three!
It’s amazing how much you can achieve when you go straight to the source.
My husband said something very profound the other day. He said: For a long time I’ve been imagining meeting *** (one of the most famous artists alive rn), and I always imagine what I’d say if I ever met him, and how I would offer him my time and work free of charge because I know being in proximity to him might make my career. But I have access to God right now, He who made everything including said artist. He can make absolutely anything happen. Why aren’t I saying what I would to God? Why am I not offering my time and work for free to the maker of all things? I should be yearning to be in His presence instead, knowing proximity to Him is the most fulfilling.
I thought that was a cool thought. If you could meet the one who could help you in all things, what would you say? Why aren’t you saying it? He’s right there.

Wow, love this. So needed this reminder, thank you ❤️
Stumbled upon this gem of a piece. I really loved it. I’ve been watching your youtube channel since the beginning. Watching your journey with god has inspired mine. ❤️
